About the Youth and Young Adult Ministry: The Youth and Young Adult Ministry of “The Mount” is a vital and vibrant part of the Mount Sinai Church family. It provides solid teaching and exciting ministry to youth ages 4-17 as well as college students and young adult ages 18-30. This ministry is dedicated to building young people of faith, love and integrity who aspire to lift up Jesus the Christ and participate in the overall church vision of providing “Ministries for Mankind.” Our young people are on a quest to become R.A.W. – Ready and Willing vessels God can use (Isaiah 6:8). We seek to provide a support system, an atmosphere of love and encouragement as well as practical teaching that will help our young people to excel in life. We encourage our youth to be examples in their everyday lives and to be exemplary leaders in their schools, neighborhoods and in everything they do.

1. YM Days – Every 2nd & 4th Saturday
The regular and central meeting times of the Youth Ministry at the Mount. YM Days are filled with fun, fellowship, Biblical teaching, activities and food. YM Days are from 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month.

2. Student Ministry – Every Tuesday evening–Patricia Davis
A tutorials ministry designed to help our young people excel academically. Student ministry seeks to offer assistance in all subjects. Student ministry meets in the FLC every Tuesday evening at 6:00p every month except during the summer months. Also encompasses: Scholarship Ministry and C.A.U.S.E.

3. Spiritual Expressions – 2nd Sat. & 4TH Thurs.–Leola Smith
Mt. Sinai’s Youth Dance Ministry for girls ages 8 – 18yrs. In addition to their 2nd Saturday Practice from 1-2p, they also practice on the 4th Thursday of the month from 7 – 8p.

4. Christian Drill Team – 4th Sat. & 2nd Thurs.–Tony Robertson
The youth drill team is for youth ages 12 – 21 yrs. In addition to their 4th Saturday Practice from 1-2p, they also practice on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 7 – 8p.

5. Selah (Choir) – Tues. & Sat. before 2nd Sun.–Theresa Littlejohn
Mt. Sinai’s youth and young adult choir for youth and young adults ages 12 ½ - 25 yrs. In addition to their 2nd Saturday practice from 2-3:30p, they also practice on the Tuesday leading up to the Second Sunday.

6. Jr. Ushers – Sat. before the 2nd Sunday–Ann Franklin
The Jr. Ushers are apart of the GSA and the Youth and Young Adult Ministry. They are responsible for providing service on YM Emphasis Sundays and during R.A.W. Worship services. They meet the Saturdays before the 2nd Sunday at 9:00 a.m.

7. Lamb’s Choir – the 2 Sat. before 2nd Sun.–Phyllis Bridgman
The Lamb’s choir is for children ages 5 – 12 ½ yrs. They practice the two consecutive Saturdays before the Second Sunday from 12:30-2p.

8. The R.A.W. Worship – Every 4th Sunday
The R.A.W. Worship is Mt. Sinai Youth Church for youth and young adults. The R.A.W. Worship is held in the Church Annex every 4th Sunday during regular 11:00 a.m. worship.

9. Davidic Praise Project – Every 2nd & 4th Tues.–Kenny Dennis
Davidic Praise Mime ministry is for teens and young adults ages 12+. They practices on 2nd and 4th Thursdays or as scheduled from 6-7 p.m.

10. Lamb’s of Praise – Every 2nd & 4th Sat.–Evelyn McDade & Kayla Freeman
The Lamb’s of Praise are our Lamb’s dance team ages 4-11. They practice every 2nd and 4th Saturday at 11:00 a.m. This team falls under the overall Youth Dance ministry.

11. B.T.U. Training/Comp. Prep – Every 2nd & 4th Sat.–Maxine Alexander
This is when interested young people prepare to compete in Bible Activities on the local, state and national levels. Lamb’s practice from 11:30 – 12:00p and Teens practice from 1:00 – 2:00p

12. Youth Ministry Council–Min. Freeman
The youth ministry council is comprised of approximately 20 teenagers who provide peer leadership within the Youth Ministry. They are selected for exhibiting exemplary leadership abilities, faithfulness and outstanding commitment to being R.A.W. The council is responsible for leading in worship, fulfilling leadership responsibilities, being the eyes and ears of the YP and serving as the voice of the young people. The officers of the council change every year.

13. Pauline Partnership Mentoring Program–Sandra Brown & Carol Marshall
The PPMP is a church mentoring program that matches a youth/young adult with and middle aged adult and a senior adult for t he purpose of fellowship, teaching and mentoring. The program involves the entire church family and is facilitated by a committee of representative from the church’s ministries.

14. Timothy Ministry – Every Thursday Evening
The Timothy Ministry is a special Bible study/Fellowship for young adults ages 18-30. The group meets every Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the FLC.
