Mission Statement

The divine mission of the Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church is to be a positive and effective witness, corporately and individually, for our Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8). We are called to win lost souls unto the Lord through preaching the gospel, and to build up and to mature believing souls through preaching, teaching, prayer, and fellowship (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 9:31; Romans 1:16; Ephesians 4:11-16)

Statements of Faith

We believe:

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, and is the authority and standard for all issues of faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17; Romans 2:16; Psalm 119:9-11)

We believe:

There is one, and only one, true God maker and creator of all things both visible and invisible. He name is Jehovah. He manifests Himself in three Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:16, 17; 28:19, 20; John 10:30)

We believe:

Man was created perfect in holiness, but lost his state through sinful disobedience. (Genesis 2:17; Romans 5:12; 6:23; 1 Corinthians 15:21, 22)

We believe:

Sinful man can only be saved by grace through faith in the sacrificial death of the Son of God on the cross for man’s sin. The genuine experience of salvation will include repentance of all sin and continuance in faith to the end. (John 3:16; 14:6; Acts 20:21; Ephesians 2:8-10; 1 Corinthians 15:3; Romans 10:9-13)

We believe:

The believer in Jesus Christ experiences the new birth of spirit life whereby he becomes a member of God’s family. (John 3:1-8; Ephesians 2:1, 5; Colossians 2:13)

We believe:

The believer in Jesus Christ grows to become more like the Son of God through the process of sanctification. (Romans 8:29; Ephesians 1:4; Titus 2:14; 1 Peter 1:16; 2 Peter 3:18)

We believe:

The Scriptures teach that the church should continue to practice the two ordinances of Baptism (total immersion in water) and The Lord’s Supper until He returns. These ordinances do not convey salvation, but are emblematic of the work of Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit in the believer’s life. (Matthew 28:19, 20; Romans 6:1-4; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29)

We believe:

No one knows the day or the hour of Christ’s return; but that, indeed, He shall return one day to reward faithful believers and judge the wicked. (Matthew 16:27; John 14:3; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; 2 Timothy 4:1)
