Scholarship Award

II Timothy 2:15

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that need not be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Our Purpose

To encourage the youth of our church congregation in a continuing educational process by providing a Scholarship Award each year. We research for funding and information on other available resources for financial aid. We network with various local organizations, church auxiliaries, state and national programs to gather information on the scholarships or grants they may be sponsoring for students seeking to attain a higher education.

Our Objective

To assist in directing those who wish to seek scholarship/grant funding through various avenues of available resources.

Psalm 127:3

“Behold children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward.”

Qualifications for attaining a Scholarship Award

Each student must be an active member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church for one year prior to the scholarship award date, which is in May of each year.

Proof of college enrollment receipts may be attached to you application if you have been accepted and completed an early registration with your college; otherwise, students must bring “proof of enrollment” from their college and submit to Sister Dorothy Harrison in the church office before the scholarship monies are awarded.
